This year"s annual amateur radio extravaganza - the Dayton Hamvention - is now history. But what made this one unique is that it was Margaret"s first. Thousands of people pour into Dayton for the Friday-Sunday event, which has its basis in amateur radio. Over its 50-plus years, however, it has expanded to an infinite assortment of computer supplies and accessories, mysterious electronic gizmos, connectors and cables, vintage tape recorders, old operator manuals for those who have lost the instruction book for their mid-"20s Philco radio, wood-carved sculptures, imaginative jewelry created from discarded electronics, cosmetics, old coins, books, magazines, toys, assorted wearing apparel, VHS movies, music CDs, old-time radio shows, tools, traffic lights - you name it.

calling it "My DX Summit," giving amateur radio operators of all interests the chance to improve DX alerts and the way that spots are delivered to users around the world. And some of the future
changes could be targeted to contesters.
